Calahonda is located in Mijas Costa halfway between Fuengirola and Marbella. It is one of the Costa del Sol more popular destinations with tourists and homeowners alike, given its fantastic climate -less than 50 days of rain a year and an average temperature of 18 degrees.
Shopping and dining facilities abound at the 3 neighbouring shopping centres; in addition there is a good offer of sports options -a golf course, tennis courts, horse riding club.
Calahonda stretches gently from the coast up to the undulating hills 300 metres above sea level, affording fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and coastline. If you wish to enjoy a beautiful sunset, head up to la Ermita at the top of the hill. Enjoy an early morning stroll along the fabulous boardwalk, or catch the tourist train, which takes you around the resort complexes.
Calahonda is close to the Cabopino beach which boasts miles of soft sand and natural sand dunes. The Cabopino marina features a number of Chiringuitos and quality restaurants.
